From Linux -> questions of opening your terminal / command lines


with windows, there always were troubles and was needed to search and find solutions.. then with mac, this disappeared and there was no need/urge to solve problems anymore
You get used to lay back and do nothing. There is no particular entry point or invitation for you to manually fix any problem/take control over your machine.
always solving problems..

using the terminal: not needed in the first place, but makes you feel connected to your machine. 
+ it's a never ending learning proces --> much a process of trying and using different commands
"working at PING, I didn't know about the command ping... then theoretically, and then practically"  ( open the terminal ping 10.9.8.7 ) (but it's a crazy infinite depth: try "man ping" )
